OOTD: What I wore to the Malta Fashion Awards

Hey Guys!

I had a very good rest after all the Malta Fashion Week Madness... just joking! It was actually a lovely experience which I really enjoyed throughly and I'm trying to get back in my old routine!

As you know, last Saturday marked the biggest fashion event in Malta, the Fashion Awards and what was more suited than a brand new outfit specially bought for this event!

Last Saturday marked the opening of the highly awaited new store, River Island so I obviously had to get myself down there and I found a beautiful jumpsuit which I just had to have! I also went to New Look who had a fantastic "Buy Two, Get One Free" offer and I bought this gorgeous Mint Blazer together with white shoes and a layered necklace!

My hair was done by the lovely and talented Graziella at the Dean Gera Salon at the Point!

OOTD: What I wore to the Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week 2014 International Designers Fashion Show

Hey Guys,

This post is coming a day late since I was very busy yesterday going from one thing to another!

One of my good friends, Deb has recently launched a new handmade jewellery company and she had the pleasure of sponsoring me with one of her pieces for this look. Since her pieces are very vintage inspired, I decided to wear a vintage outfit with a modern twist! The piece I chose was actually a long necklace which Deb shortened for me! She also does custom made pieces!

Make sure to check out her facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/patchesandbonnets?fref=ts

For my look I went with a see-through bat wing top paired up with my favourite maxi skirt and leather jacket. After a week in heels I decided to wear flats, my poor feet needed a break :-p

For my hair and make up, I decided to go a little gothic chic by pairing a heavy dark eye with a hint of cranberry in my crease together with a nude lip. I pulled my hair up in a high pony tail to finish off this look!

I hope you enjoyed this look! Stay tuned for my last and final look at the Malta Fashion Awards!

Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week 2014- International Designers Fashion Show

Today marks the last fashion show of the Malta Fashion Week and what better way to end this week than a healthy dose of beautiful pieces coming from all around the world!

This event was supported by Cordina Outside Catering and Meridiana estates.

5 international designers showcased their collection against the backdrop of the Pjazza Regina with magnificent arches and beautiful stone structures, the designs stood out against yet again another beautiful location!

Stunning hair styles were styled by Tony & Guys and Essentials Artistic Team whilst Make Up was done by Elaine Galea, Krista Paris, Talitha Dimech, Diandra Mattei, Gabrielle Zammit Grungo, Leanne Magro & Christelle Lays using Eva Garden Make Up.

Daniela Bozic (Serbia)

The first designer to showcase her work came all the way from Serbia! Daniela Bozic presented her collection titled 'Floral Rhapsody designed for the woman who expresses her emotions through extravagant dresses with strong colours that represent the form of rare and exotic flora.

The main colour used in this colletion was white, however, other colours such as green, black, red and gold were prominent in some gowns whilst the pieces of jewellery styled with the pieces were quite colourful. I noticed that most of the pieces, namely the capes and jackets had a patterned inside. Materials ranged from sheer to embossed to chiffon and velvet.

Joan Isioma Okorodudu (Nigeria)

I remember Joan from last year's Malta Fashion Awards and how much I loved the vibrant patterns and fun designs! This year, Joan definitely did not disappoint!

Joan's collection is all about African culture represented in the bold prints and bright colours used. Her collection is all about having fun with fashion.

From gorgeous jumpsuits to fun flirty dresses to crop tops to wide legged pants and gorgeous jackets to fun suits for the boys, this collection was all about having fun!

Prints were at an all time high in this collection from star prints to abstract prints!

Jean Paul Benielli (France)

'La Femme', an exquisite evening gown collection made of the finest fabrics was presented by Jean Paul Benielli this evening.

These beautiful gowns were made using the finest of fine materials such as hand-embroidered lace, chiffon, organza and satin which combined to create striking silhouettes.

The gowns were finished off with even finer pieces such as Tahitian pearls, Swarowski crystals, sequins, glass beads and chiffons.

These pieces were the kind of pieces which immediately show the hard work that has gone into making each piece since these kind of materials are so fine that they definitely look hand made and customized to create the perfect piece.

Sally Bawa (Nigeria)

Another Nigerian designer rocked the runway tonight! Sally Bawa, beautifully crafted pieces including stunning hand painted pieces with striking designs, combining different patterns and colours.

This collection has been described as the revival of the love of art and the combination of imagination and representation.

From gorgeous floral prints to to abstract art statements donning a number of earthy and floral colours. Crop tops, tailored pieces, dresses, maxi skirts and tailored shirts for men, this collection was quite the work of art!

Judy R. Clark (Scotland, United Kingdom)

The last and final collection came from a country not far away! Harris Tweeds, Scottish lace and tartans  in a non-traditional way donning the signature Judy R Clark tailoring and flamboyant silhouettes.

From elegant fairy tale long dresses to crop tops to military style jackets this collection screamed femininity and girl power and what was more appropriate than Beyonce's Run The World to accompany this female empowered collection?!

Lace details, embellishments, beaded details, chiffon and patterned print statements were the highlights of the dresses which showed the craftsmanship of the tailoring of these pieces.

Two jackets stood out with feather tails bringing your average military jacket to the next level!

And that my dear readers is Malta Fashion Week 2014!! I look forward to attending the Malta Fashion Awards for more fashion fun tomorrow!

I hope you enjoyed this journey with me, I know I did!!

Until tomorrow!

OOTD: What I wore to the Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week 2014 Gagliardi Fashion Show

Hey Guys!

Yesterday I attended the Gagliardi Fashion Show who celebrated 50 years of Bortex in Malta.

Keeping in check with the nature of the show, I went for a collarless jacket, an embellished sheer top and my wrap around bird print skirt. I finished off the look with nude and rose gold accessories.

Throughout this week I wore my midi rings which I got from Black Tied, however I realised that they never showed up in my photos so I took a close up picture so that you can see them!

For my make up I went very  natural and added a navy blue line, for my lips I used a purply/ pink shiny lipstick, Obsess from Make Up Store to give a little bit of colour to the outfit.

Hope you enjoyed this look!
