So I have been waiting to do this for quite a while now.
Yesterday was quite a day full of change, a new government for Malta, a new pope, and my new page!
I do not usually write personal posts, however, for my sake and maybe for someone going through what I have been going through all my life, this post might make a difference... so here it goes...
In my life, I have always made excuses not to start this new challenge. I have tried several attempts to do this on my own but to no avail!
One thing that has bothered me and I have struggled with constantly is my weight. Unfortunately due to certain events in my life I have time and time again comfort ate my way out of things. Food was the only thing that made me "complete". Due to this, I gained weight and was always chubbier than other girls my age. In my teenage years, I was always around 60-65 kgs and wore a size 12, which you might say, ok that's not that bad, however, since I am quite short, I was always overweight and clothes never looked right.
A few years ago, I suffered from acne, my face had gotten so bad that I had to go to a dermatologist. Due to this, I had to go on the pill. This didn't help my self esteem at all, I was already down because of my acne and to top it all off, I gained even more weight!
Although I had stopped the pill, the weight remained there, I knew something was wrong. After consulting with my GP, we decided to do some blood tests, little did we know, I had slow thyroid.
My thyroid is now controlled, however, the weight is still there.
I have tried decreasing portions, decreasing my sugar intake, exercise, however, I always gave up after a few weeks!
A few weeks ago, my colleague decided to start going to a Nutritionist and asked me if I would be interested in going with her. My friend had gone to this particular Nutritionist and the weight she lost in a good and healthy manner was phenomenal.
After thinking about it, I decided that I should just go for it. I spent a few weeks not telling anyone, not even my boyfriend, reason being that if I wanted to pig out these last few weeks, I had no one on my back, making me feel guilty that I should start dieting! This approach actually worked, since I made the appointment and stuck to it! I did eventually tell my boyfriend, however, only a handful of people knew. I am not seeing this as a diet, however it is a lifestyle change, for a healthier, better me!
I decided to bring this to the blog, since this will help me stick to my change even more, having this out there will motivate me even more to stick to what I plan to do!
Every 2 weeks, I will start blogging about my progress! So what is my weight and inches at the moment:
- Weight- 73.75 kgs
- Chest- 38 inches
- Waist- 33 inches
- Hips- 43 inches
- Lower Hips- 43.5 inches
Let's see where this gets me! Wish me luck!
