Fabulous Haul: I AM EFFIE Watches

Hey Guys,

So one of our fellow bloggers and friend has recently embarked on a new project called I AM EFFIE which is an online store selling things representing her style and what she loves!

As you know from our giveaway video, we were giving away a hand made purse by Stefy!

Today, I will be showing you what I bought out of her watch collection!

I am a big fan of pastels so you can imagine how nuts I went when Stefy started selling these watches! I absolutely LOVED the rose gold touches on each watch! At first I went for a Black watch since I needed a colour which went with outfits with gold accessories, however, I fell in love with the mint watch too.

When I opted to buy it, it was out of stock but Stefy saved one for me when she got in more watches. She also got some new colours and one of them was this amazing Sky Blue watch which I just had to have!

Apart from watches, Stefy is selling a number of statement pieces and other accessories.

If you would like to buy some of her products visit: http://stefypuglisevich.tictail.com/ and like her face book page for more updates on new stock and products: https://www.facebook.com/IAMEFFIE

Fabulous Hauls: MAKK!!

Hey Guys!!

So, if you have been following our Facebook page, you know I had a little surprise for Denise!

This surprise turned out to be a customized mug from MAKK, a new handmade store!!

How did MAKK come to life?

Three MCAST Art and Design students reading for a degree in BA (Hons) 3D and Interiors came up with an innovative idea to express their artistic skills in order to make some pocket money in order to travel after graduating this year!

They found affordable mugs which allowed them to make a good profit margin and decided to design 10 different mugs at first, took some photos and made a Facebook page for fun! Little did they know that in 4 hours, they hit a 100 likes and got 8 orders, quite impressive!!

Jessica Cauchi, Sarah Scudamore and Kirsty Vella are the brains behind this innovative venture, only just 21 years of age and to date they have designed and hand painted 300 mugs between them in just a month of opening!

How did the name MAKK arise? Due to the lovely Menglish (Maltese/ English) accent of a lady shouting "FEJNHOM IL-MAKKIJET?!", the girls thought it would be quite catchy to use, little did they know that this would be a great branding strategy were they have literally re-invented the way people refer to their Makks (mugs)

When I found this page by accident, I went nuts over these MAKKs, these girls are very very talented! Apart from that I am a sucker for anything creative so I had to get a customized Makk pronto apart from the fact that I am addicted to Tea!

I had an idea to get a customized MAKK representing our blog so I sent MAKK a message on Facebook with what I had in mind: http://www.facebook.com/pages/MAKK/423102104449243

I soon received a message from the lovely Jess who basically informed me how the system works:

You give a basic concept of what you want, be it an occasion, something specific etc, then they will surprise you with the outcome! You can also choose to buy a normal MAKK or a Super MAKK!

Since I have an anniversary coming up, I decided to make a cutesy MAKK for my boyfriend, Jess gave me an idea of two interlinking MAKKs with a Romeo and Juliet Scene.

Apart from that, my colleague wanted to buy a MAKK for another colleague of ours sporting Grumpy Cat!

I was very surprised with the outcome of these MAKKs, they came out way better than what I expected. I loved the element of surprise since when I opened them, they exceeded my expectations!

Check out all the MAKKs below!! I definitely recommend that you visit their Facebook page and check out all their other MAKKs!

Tried and Tested- Pupa Magnetic Nail Art Kit- Review, Swatches and Tutorial

Hey Guys!

So today I will be reviewing a product I had been after for a long long time, the Pupa Magnetic Nail Art Kit!

I bought this kit a few weeks ago in Silver and I just had to have it!

The kit contains a small magnetic nail polish and two magnets, one to create horizontal stripes and the other one to create diagonal stripes. This product retails for around 10 euro, quite a good price considering that you get a nail polish and two magnets.

The nail polish contains 5 ml of product which is specifically made to use with magnets, however you can still apply it on it's own.

I have filmed a video in order for you to get an idea on the ease of use of the product and also to see how to actually apply this product, take a look:

As you can see from the above video, the product is easy to apply however, it can get a bit irritating to get the right distance away from the nail because if you put it too close it will smudge but if you put it too far away it won't mark.

Since you have to apply the magnet to each separate nail, I thought that it will take long to finish my nails but in around 10 minutes I was up and ready to go! What is good about this product is that it doesn't take very long to dry to that also minimizes the time to finish your nails!

I tested out the product for a whole week, you can see my nails after a week of wear below!
After one week
As you can see, I did have a bit of chipping on the nails however they started to chip after around 5 days of wearing the nail polish.

All in all, I absolutely recommend this product, not only do they make your nails look funky but this kit is very easy to use!

That's all from me.

Tried and Tested: Pupa Luminys Silk Wet & Dry Baked Eyeshadow Colour in 401- Review & Swatches

Hey Guys,

So as you know, we were sent two new Pupa products to try out! Check out our feature on the full product line here: http://allthingsfabulousblog.blogspot.com/2013/04/fabulous-feature-pupa-milano-new.html

Today, I will be reviewing the Luminys Silk Wet & Dry Baked eyeshadow colour in 401.

Pupa Luminys Silk Wet & Dry Baked eyeshadow- Swatches on the right (Dry- Left, Wet- Right)

The Luminys Silk Wet & Dry Baked eyeshadow in 401, is a brown eyeshadow with silver undertones in order to get that silky finish which can be applied both dry and wet as shown above.

The eyeshadow is very easy to work with, the eyeshadow has a silky finish and once applied wet, the eyeshadow has a magnetic finish. Pigmentation wise, this eyeshadow is quite pigmented, in fact in the above swatch, I did not need to apply a lot of eyeshadow to get the swatch I wanted.

The original eyeshadow comes in a silver domed packaging as you can see in the below picture.

In order to test out this product, I have tried wearing the eyeshadow on it's own and with a primer. What was astonishing that without the primer, this eyeshadow did last me a whole day, although it was not as pigmented as when I applied it first thing in the morning, there was still a noticeable hue of colour on my lids. Another thing I liked about this colour is that I could pull off a natural look with just this eye colour.

This eyeshadow retails for 12.50 euro and you can get it in six colours: 100, 200, 400, 401, 500 and 800, you can see all the colours here: http://www.pupa.it/eng/make-up/eyes/Product/luminys-silk.aspx

Hope you enjoyed this review.

Diet Diaries- Update 3- Let's Do This!

Hey Guys!

I can't believe I'm saying this but I have been doing this diet for 7 weeks! I have actually managed to stick to this diet for this long!!

These two weeks were a bit of a challenge for me since I was so busy... food preparation was a bit of a nag but I managed to get through these two weeks and only regret one day since I did not eat well, however, I did not eat any junk meh!

This week I was really touched by a lovely message I received from a reader telling me that I inspired her to start this journey with me! I also sent the blog posts to Marika, who I am doing this diet with, who I would like to clarify that she is a health and fitness instructor and is currently doing a weight management masters with Chester UK.

My biggest challenge was probably inventing new things to do and spicing things up a little. I was quite impressed at how creative I can get with food!

I do feel a bit lighter but after the sort of let-down last week, if you don't remember visit here: http://allthingsfabulousblog.blogspot.com/2013/04/diet-diaries-update-2-lets-do-this.html, I was a bit let down that I only lost around 1 and a half kilos so I'm not going with any huge expectations tomorrow.

Funnily enough, many people I know who do this will probably weigh themselves at home just to see their progress, I on the other hand like to get weighed at my session and that's all!

For now I bid you adieu, however check out my food choices these 2 weeks! Don't forget to follow us on Instagram where you can see my daily choices: http://instagram.com/allthingsfab

So... have I lost weight? See below to find out!

Seems I'm on the right track! I lost another 1.3 kgs and an inch/ half an inch in certain places!

This time I'm less disappointed than last time since I had a good chat with Marika. She assured me that I am doing very very well and that it is normal to lose a lot of weight in the beginning since you give your body a shock then it just goes into a routine. Apart from that since I suffer from Thyroid that does slow me down. She was also concerned with my dairy intake, it might be that I am taking too much dairy for my body, so we are going to try and reduce that to see if it helps.

Another factor which is probably not helping me is eating out, although I am moderating and taking the right things, it is a bit different when you eat at home rather than in a restaurant due to oils and flavorings which are used, so she gave me a little advice in order for me to see how this happens, she asked me to weigh myself on Friday Morning and then again on Monday Morning to see the difference the weekend does.

All in all, she told me this, at the end of the day, I am still loosing the weight not gaining it, also, she tole me that loosing it quickly might mean that I gain it back quickly, I am loosing it slowly and in a healthy way so it will be easier to keep it off! Then again, this is not a race so I can take all the time I need!

This time round I asked her to choose what I am going to eat everyday since when I was left free it was a hassle for me to stay thinking about what I'm going to eat so like this I can prepare from before and not rack my brains about what to eat, mind you lunch and dinner are still open to an extent, we'll see how that works!

See you in two weeks!
